Brian Cohen 'Model B'- the 'prototype' guitar, 2008 · Copyright © 2008 ·

This model of guitar is described elsewhere on this site- see the 'Models' page for full information. This example was the first one built to this unique new design, (protected by 'Design Right' 2008). Spruce top, 65 cms, Hauser 1 body outline, Brazilian rosewood back and ribs, with full Cites permit, Cedar neck, and ebony fingerboard- Other Details include double purfling with Figured Koa wood inset on the table, unique specially made rosette, even further refined to accomodate the unique table 'break', the inset purfling on back and ribs of highly figured quarter sawn lacewood, and the finish is 'French Polish'. Cocobolo arm rest fitted, which is removeable. Extra 1/2 fret (20th) at the top of fingerboard is incorporated, and the bridge tie-block has doubled holes.

Condition: This guitar has been professionally played for over a year now- so the full tonal benefits can be evaluated- As predicted, the qualty is clear, loud, and 'clean', and the increased access to the upper reaches of the fingerboard have indeed been realised. The action is exactly as for a standard guitar, so no added stresses have been placed on the table- therefore there are no foreseen disadvantages to this new design of guitar- so succesful is it after the timed trial period of play, I will now to keep this new range of guitars in my range, and will even extend its use to include steel strung acoustic guitars. This model of guitar is only currently available as a private commission, and will not be made available as a 'new order' to any dealers anywhere in the world. The polish has been slghtly marked over the course of the year, and this will be refreshed very soon, so it will be sold virtually 'as new'.

This design is unique to my work, and by publicizing it here, I expose myself to copies being made- no licence has been or will be granted to do this. I would appreciate it if anyone anywhere comes across anyone copying this idea to inform me, as quite a lot of time on the idea itself, and efforts on new construction methods and sequences has gone into the development of this idea. I would like to keep it that way. Thank you
